‘Not worried’: Suppliers look forward to Coles-only focus

Cheese from Moondarra Cheese in the Melbourne suburb of Dandenong is sold around the world, including across Australia in Coles supermarkets.

Co-owner Nick Katis says he hopes Coles’ de-merger from Wesfarmers, announced on Friday, will have a positive impact on his business, which employs 40 full-time staff.
“Coles has been performing well for us,” Mr Katis said. “We have a good, strong relationship with Coles and the noises that [outgoing MD] John Durkan makes about having the right mix of branded, innovative products and private label works well for us and that’s the space that we occupy.
