Woolworths ramps up click-and-collect options

Woolworths is aiming to boost online sales at BIG W and its direct-to-consumer business EziBuy by enabling customers to pick up their purchases at Woolworths supermarkets and ­petrol stations.
The retailer has set up collection desks in 22 supermarkets in NSW and Queensland, where customers who buy online at BIG W or Ezibuy can collect general merchandise orders while doing their grocery shopping.
Woolworths is also installing BIG W parcel lockers in five supermarkets and longer term is looking at installing BIG W lockers in Woolworths petrol stations, where customers can already collect their online grocery orders.
Woolworths’ general manager marketplace, Emily Amos, said ‘click and collect’ was becoming increasingly popular with online customers because delivery was free and customers did not have to wait at home to receive deliveries.
Woolworths first launched click and collect for online grocery orders in 2012. It now accounts for between 35 per cent and 50 per cent of online sales across Woolworths’ brands.  Sydney Morning Herald – Read more…
