Simona Betiu, Sales Effectiveness Leader of Nielsen Malaysia, has a great article on the opportunity to reset the promotional mindset. One thing I suggest that needs to be added, is having in-field personnel to capture promotional compliance, otherwise uplift rates or lack thereof exclude the fact that many stores don’t actually comply with promotions and therefore appear to have failed or provided a lower than expected outcome.
