  • Mini DSA: Designed to shift core product ranging be eliminating approx 6,000 slow moving SKU’s to improve stock availability, trading terms, instore labour efficiency and stock turns. Trials have shown 1.5{845d44a2f09c0018d802e19e78941a85dc2180e4ed7410cee0b34e8cb134ecea} sales kick, 3.5{845d44a2f09c0018d802e19e78941a85dc2180e4ed7410cee0b34e8cb134ecea} higher stock turns, 6{845d44a2f09c0018d802e19e78941a85dc2180e4ed7410cee0b34e8cb134ecea} lower stock weights and 2{845d44a2f09c0018d802e19e78941a85dc2180e4ed7410cee0b34e8cb134ecea} lower instore labour costs.

  • Indie Direct: Metcash undertakes the delivery and payment for c.A$1bn of sales that doesn’t move thru its warehouses. The ordering currently takes place from a paper-based catalogue. Moving this to an online system will enable efficiency gains and widen the potential for more suppliers to move onto the platform.

  • Private label: Launch of a mid-tier ‘Community Co’ brand to drive better retail and wholesale margins through locally sourced product. This will enable the existing black and gold range to play as a stronger price-fighting brand.

  • Catch Pro: A database that surveys store catchments providing income, culture, life stage and age demographics to help enable retailers better customise their ranges. The data is sourced from the ABS, IRI, Experian and Nielsen to help retailers size up opportunities.
