Woolies private-label brands dearer than rivals Coles and Aldi

Private-label products at Woolworths supermarkets remain more expensive than those at rivals Coles and Aldi despite falling an average of 4.6 per cent since last year.
A Morgan Stanley price comparison found the average price across the Woolworths Select and Homebrand label had dropped since last May, but Coles had also managed a similar cost reduction.
Aldi prices had declined 1.2 per cent, and remained 18 per cent cheaper than similar products in the Select range and 7 per cent cheaper than Coles branded goods. The Australian Business Review – Read more…
