Consumer confidence is ‘volatile’: API Pharmacueticals

API Pharmaceuticals boss Stephen Roche said consumer spending habits and confidence are erratic after he unveiled another quarter of solid growth in his Priceline pharmacy chain.
At the group’s annual meeting on Thursday, API reported 2 per cent growth in like-for-like store sales, below last year’s growth of 4.5 per cent, and 8 per cent total sales growth for the four months to January 23.
In a tough and extremely competitive retail environment, Mr Roche said shoppers are fickle, but he is confident in Priceline’s growth potential.
