Coca-Cola Amatil prepares beer market re-entry

Coca-Cola Amatil is teaming up with the maker of Australia’s successful Yellow Tail wine label to prepare for its re-entry to the premium beer business late next year.
CCA announced today that it is entered into an agreement to lend $46 million to Australian Beer Company, part of Yellow Tail-owner, the Casella Group.
The new venture is the latest challenge to the foreign-owned brewers that control 90 per cent of the Australian beer market – Lion (owned by Japanese conglomerate Kirin) and Foster’s (owned by London-based SABMiller).  Sydney Morning Herald – Read more…
