Images of ‘misleading’ displays in community pharmacies advising customers that Lipitor was no longer available have not spared Pfizer from a $50,000 fine.


A Medicines Australia Code of Conduct meeting last month ruled that Pfizer breached advertising regulations when the company released “community service announcements” in mainstream newspapers in response to a surge in patients reporting they had been told Lipitor (atorvastatin) was no longer available.
