Aldi and Menora Assure the ACCC They Will No Longer Sell Oregano Mixed with Other Leaves
The makers of two oregano products, which consumer group Choice claimed were padded out with olive leaves, have provided court enforceable undertakings to the consumer watchdog.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission said there was a "substantial presence of olive leaves" in Aldi’s Stonemill-branded oregano product and a Menora-branded oregano product sold at Coles, Woolworths, IGA and independent food services across NSW, Vic, WA and SA.
It has accepted court enforceable undertakings from Aldi and Monde Nissin, which trades as Menora Food, which have agreed to regularly obtain test reports confirming the composition of their oregano products.
They have also undertaken to implement testing of the composition of a number of other herb and spice products. Sydney Morning Herald – Read more…
