They know how to kill the bosses with kindness at Woolies.
Fairfax’s chairman, Roger Corbett, walked out the door at Woolies in 2006 with a $3 million retirement benefit, on top of his superannuation benefits, and a five-year $600,000 per annum "consultancy" with the grocery giant.
But at least he had the runs on the board.
The current boss, Grant O’Brien, has now been stumped on a number of occasions, but still gets to stay on the books until after his 55th birthday, in July next year, to ensure his ‘defined benefit’ superannuation scheme does not get blighted by his walking orders from the board.  Sydney Morning Herald – Read more…
