After Metcash’s $80m tech upgrade blew out by $200m, Jones said “Frankly, what was happening was that we were dumbing the business down.” “We were trying to find something that was so broad that it tried to meet the needs of all parts of the business.”
This was an important observation from Metcash CEO, Doug Jones, as he backed it up by demonstrating his strong leadership and how the business can take back control of an IT project to bring it in alignment with business goals.
