China tightens infant formula regulations

China will impose tougher regulations for companies selling infant formula online as part of its efforts to bolster food safety.
All foreign companies – including Bellamy’s Organic and Blackmores – must apply for fresh product registration if they wish to continue selling their products across China’s crossborder e-commerce channels.
The move comes amid a crackdown from Beijing on online sales made through bonded warehouses across China’s 12 free trade zones, and coincides with Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull’s first official visit to the country. Sydney Morning Herald – Read more…
